Legislature abolishes voluntary networks
Under House Bill 473, insurance carriers will no longer offer PPOs, also known as voluntary networks, as of January 1, 2011. Policyholders enrolled in Texas Mutual's certified workers' compensation health care network will not be affected.
Texas Mutual has spent the last four years recruiting quality physicians and refining the way the network delivers care to injured workers.
Today, we have the state's largest certified network, covering 231 of Texas' 254 counties. About 99 percent of our policyholders have operations in a network service area.
