President's Message
Policyholder Advisory Group Gives Valuable Feedback

Texas Mutual Insurance Company takes a unique approach to finding out how we can serve our customers better: We ask them. This fall, we hosted our annual meeting with members of our policyholder advisory group (PAG). The meeting provided a great opportunity to find out what we’re doing well and, more importantly, how we can improve.

The upcoming Texas Mutual^® health care network option was high on the agenda at this year’s meeting. Starting in 2006, policyholders that participate in our network option will earn a premium discount. They will also benefit from the network system’s renewed focus on delivering quality health care and returning injured workers to the job. Our network option will be an important addition to the services that have helped us become Texas’ leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance.

PAG members applauded our ongoing commitment to fighting fraud and controlling health care costs by carefully managing claims. They gave us high marks for delivering online tools that help them streamline their workers’ comp business. They told us that our free You Need to Know email service and House Bill 7 resource page help them understand changes to the workers’ compensation system and their roles in it.

We value your constructive criticism as much as your praise. Based on PAG feedback, we will continue exploring ways to give you easy access to claim information, improve communication between us and our policyholders, and offer more safety training resources. In fact, we are working on a project that will make our online safety resource center even more valuable to policyholders who want to improve their safety programs.

We appreciate your business, and we know that we must continue to earn it. Together, we can make Texas a safer, more productive place to do business.
