President's Message
A Record Year for Dividends

This summer, nearly 34,000 employers, representing 73 percent of Texas Mutual® policyholders, received a share of about $100 million in individual dividends. The 2006 individual dividend plan represents the largest dividend payout in company history.

Sometimes, the term dividend causes confusion. When publicly owned corporations pay dividends, they return a portion of company profits to their stockholders. All stockholders receive a dividend based on the number of shares they own. When Texas Mutual Insurance Company returns dividends, we reward specific policyholders based on customer loyalty and claim loss history.

Over the past eight years, we have distributed more than $320 million in individual dividends to qualifying policyholders. We cannot guarantee future dividends, but we are committed to sharing our success with policyholders whenever financial conditions allow.

I hope you will consider our track record for paying dividends when it comes time to renew your policy.

I also hope you will not forget the other services that have made us Texas’ number one choice for workers’ comp insurance: You can count on us to investigate and prosecute fraud; you can count on us to help you reduce workplace accidents and the costs that come with them; when accidents do happen, you can count on us to help your injured workers get well and return as productive members of your workforce.

Perhaps most importantly, you can count on Texas Mutual Insurance Company to be here for you and your employees. Some insurance carriers have abandoned you or reduced their services during changing market conditions. Fifteen years ago, we made a commitment to be here for you as long as you need a stable, reliable source of workers’ comp insurance. From our board of directors to our front-line staff, Texas Mutual Insurance Company is focused on keeping that promise.

On behalf of all of us at Texas Mutual Insurance Company, thank you for your business. We look forward to continuing our relationship with you for many more years.
