Get free safety training materials
The safety resource center offers more than 2,000 DVDs, videos, pamphlets
and other materials that can help you prevent workplace
accidents. Many of the materials are available in
Spanish and English.
You can also use the resource center to uncover and correct the root causes of workplace accidents, compare your accident rate with others in your industry, and find out how much money accidents cost your business.
All you need are a Texas Mutual® online username and password. If you are not a registered Texas Mutual® user, click on safety resource center, and complete the online application.
Texas Mutual improves online claim tool
This spring, Texas Mutual improved its loss run
and claim detail tool.
Among the improvements are full injury descriptions
and complete transaction histories on all claims
(previously limited to 50 transactions).
Observe drug-free work week
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has
declared October 19-25 Drug-Free Work Week.
Texas Mutual encourages policyholders to take the
opportunity to launch a substance abuse program or
improve an existing program.*
If you’re not sure you can spare the time or resources, consider these DOL statistics:
- Substance abusers miss six times more work than their counterparts. They are 35 percent less productive, and they file twice as many workers’ compensation claims.
- Sixty-five percent of workplace accidents involve substance abuse.
- Between 10 percent and 20 percent of the nation’s workers who die on the job test positive for alcohol or other drugs.
*Consult an attorney before you launch a substance abuse program.
