Get Paid Faster
Providers who bill workers’ compensation carriers electronically report streamlined operations, which include getting paid faster. If you are not billing Texas Mutual electronically, the company encourages you to do two things:
1. Contact your automation solution provider, and ask them if and when they will enable workers’ compensation eBilling for you.
2. Call Jopari Solutions, Texas Mutual’s eBilling partner, at (866) 269-0554. The agent will ask you a series of questions. You will then be contacted to assess your needs and discuss implementation options.
Since January 1, 2008, most medical providers and payers in the Texas workers’ compensation system have been required to exchange medical billing information, supporting documentation and remittance information electronically. Texas was the first state to enact these requirements, and it has been regarded as the bellwether state for other jurisdictions.
Texas Mutual, the leading workers’ compensation payer in Texas, began accepting medical bills and documents electronically in late 2007. Although the company has seen eBilling participation grow steadily, a handful of providers are using billing and submission automation tools that cannot manage connectivity to Jopari. Fortunately, Jopari offers a spectrum of solutions, including direct entry of bills, faxing of documents and high-volume transfers via sophisticated methods.
