We’re Strengthening Our Partnership With You

Texas Mutual Insurance Company appreciates everything Texas Star Network® providers do to get injured employees well and back on the job. To make our partnership with you even stronger, our medical director, Dr. Nicholas Tsourmas, hit the road this fall. He shared his experiences with Concentra Medical Centers in Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and Austin/San Antonio.

Studies have shown injured workers who return to work, even under modified duty, generally do better than their counterparts who have been away for extended periods. Early resocializing prevents the injured worker from getting out of the habit of going to work. It also minimizes peer pressure from co-workers when the injured worker returns after being away for any significant period.

Tsourmas thanked providers for their commitment to assigning appropriate, specific, time-limited work restrictions for injured employees. He added that DWC Form-73 is a convenient way for providers to communicate work status and restrictions in simple terms. The form is available in the Providers section at texasmutual.com.

Tsourmas also noted the importance of continuing to deliver consistent care across all regions. He said the treatment of specific injuries and conditions in Dallas/Fort Worth should be essentially the same as in Houston or Austin.

Texas Mutual values its partnership with Texas Star Network® providers. We are committed to making it easy for you to do business with us.

We encourage you to visit the Providers section of our website to get more information about the Texas Star Network® ,as well as your role in the return-to-work process. Together, network providers and Texas Mutual are making a difference for injured workers and their families. If you would like to speak to Dr. Tsourmas, contact him at ntsourmas@texasmutual.com or (512) 224-7044.
