The Texas Construction Association (TCA) has been looking out for subcontractors’ best interests for nearly a decade. It was no surprise when the association partnered with Texas Mutual Insurance Company to form a workers’ compensation purchasing group for its members.

Each group member gets a premium discount based on the group’s premium volume, regardless of their individual premium size. They can also adopt an industry-specific safety plan and qualify for potential dividends from Texas Mutual Insurance Company. The TCA group is open to many construction classification codes. Applicants must be a TCA member or a member of any TCA-affiliated trade association.

“The premium discount offsets the membership dues,” said Gina Jones of Anco Insurance, TCA group administrator. “Plus, it’s money well-spent because it supports our lobbying efforts. We are the primary voice that subcontractors have in the Texas Legislature.”

Subcontractors Leverage Purchasing Power

Over half of the TCA group members have earned an additional premium discount by choosing our workers’ comp health care network. The Texas Star NetworkSM option includes occupational health care services designed to help injured workers get well and back on the job.

Any licensed Texas agent can submit qualifying clients for TCA group membership. Agents who work with purchasing groups can improve their marketing results by making valuable industry contacts. Group coverage is also a good way to maintain renewal stability through a loyal clientele, increase market share and generate new business.
