Safety Group News

Why Safety Groups?
State law allows employers in similar industries to purchase their workers' compensation coverage as a group. Members get a premium discount, an industry-specific safety plan, and potential group and individual dividends. Their agents get more market share, higher premium volumes and renewal stability.

Texas Mutual introduces new groups
This spring, Texas Mutual Insurance Company introduced two more Safety Group opportunities for you and your clients.

The Texas Recreation Safety Group is open to qualifying golf clubs, country clubs, health clubs, hunting and fishing clubs, bowling alleys and other businesses in the recreation industry.

The Texas Construction Supply group is open to qualifying supply yards, building material centers and other construction suppliers.

Texas Home Builders opens doors
Any licensed agent can now submit clients for consideration in the Texas Home Builders (THB) Safety Group. THB is open to most segments of the home-building industry.

Groups earn dividends
Four Safety Groups offered by Texas Mutual Insurance Company celebrated the holidays with dividends.*

Three National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) groups earned a combined $684,997. The groups represent small businesses in the construction, manufacturing and wholesale/retail industries.

"Our members are small and independent businesses. Many are at a disadvantage competing against larger businesses," said Stephanie Vincent, NFIB group administrator. "These dividends will help them level the playing field."

Meanwhile, members of the Texas Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association group earned their first dividend: $129,320.

*Past dividends are not a guarantee of future dividends. The Texas Department of Insurance must approve all dividends.

Safety Groups reach 100 percent of their dividend earning potential in their third year.
