Automotive Group Deflates Premiums ![]() If you have clients in the auto repair business, submit them for consideration in the Texas Automotive Purchasing Group (TAPG). The group helps members deflate their premiums and improve their safety programs. It also offers you the chance to tap into a growing segment of the Texas economy. “We expect the auto repair industry to grow with the population of Texas,” said Shanan Wagoner of Frost Insurance Agency, the group’s administrator. “As vehicles need repair, shops of all kinds will service them.” Many of the technicians and mechanics who work in those shops are paid on a commission basis. This creates an incentive to work quickly and accurately. Texas Mutual will help ensure that they work safely, too. A loss prevention consultant will partner with the group to create a safety plan for its members. The plan will include basic safety components, as well as components designed around the unique hazards of the industry. TAPG is open to qualifying tire sales centers, general auto repair facilities, lube centers, auto parts stores, body shops, brake repair shops, automotive machine shops and radiator shops. Any licensed Texas agent can submit qualifying clients for consideration. What’s in it for you?
