You Asked, We Delivered

Your job is to make your clients happy. Our job is to help you do your job.

In 2006, our Agents Advisory Council (AAC) asked us to shorten the time that first-year policyholders must wait for their first dividend. We wasted no time going to work on a solution. The result is our early qualifier dividend.

In November, approximately 2,600 new policyholders earned a share of more than $2 million in early qualifier dividends.

To be eligible:

  1. The policyholder must have had a Texas Mutual® policy that expired between January 1, 2007 and June 30, 2007.
  2. The policyholder must have had an in-force policy on October 15, 2007.
  3. The policyholder’s loss ratio must have been within the acceptable range.

The early qualifier dividend is the final piece of our 2007 individual policyholder dividend plan. We distributed a company record of nearly $125 million in individual dividends this year. We have distributed about $445 million in individual dividends since 1999.*

Dividends are a valuable client retention tool. I encourage you to visit our website to review your clients’ individual dividend history with them and download a dividend fact sheet.

Before I sign off on my last column of the year, I want to thank you for your partnership. Agents like you are our strongest connection with employers.

We value your business, and we will work hard to continue earning it. If there’s something we can do to make your job easier in 2008, I encourage you to contact your AAC representative. Or, you can contact us directly at (800) 859-5995.

As always, we’ll do our best to deliver solutions.

*Past dividends are not a guarantee of future dividends, and the Texas Department of Insurance must approve all dividends.
