Reminders
Help your clients avoid policy cancellations
You can help your clients avoid policy cancellations by reminding them to pay their premium on time.
After the first two late payments, we will send the policyholder a reinstatement notice that will include a warning letter. After the third late payment, we will cancel the policy.
The policyholder may submit a new application for coverage. They will not, however, qualify for the retention portion of any dividends declared by Texas Mutual Insurance Company for that year.
Texas Mutual adopts new relativities
Texas Mutual Insurance Company has adopted the relativities approved by Texas Department of Insurance Commissioner Mike Geeslin.
We are using the relativities as a basis for calculating premium for new and renewal business with effective dates on or after January 1, 2008.
To view the recently adopted relativities, visit www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/regulation/wcrates08.html.
For information on rates, visit www.tdi.state.tx.us/wc/regulation/rcomp.html.
Get quotes faster
Texas Mutual Insurance Company wants to help you get prompt, appropriate coverage for your clients.
The fastest, most convenient way to submit business is through our Internet Quoting (IQ) system.
IQ issues quotes up to $25,000. If the submission does not qualify for an automated quote, the system routes the submission directly to an underwriter's workbasket.
You can also help us by sending your submission-related materials to the correct email address. Send new-business applications and supporting documents to apps@texasmutual.com.
Send endorsement requests, renewal information, changes in payroll and general inquiries to underwriting@texasmutual.com.
Please do not email documents to your underwriter unless requested.
State increases fixed payroll for sole proprietors, partners
Effective October 1, 2007, the fixed payroll for sole proprietors and partners increased from $43,800 to $46,300.
Fixed payroll is based on the average weekly wage set by the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers' Compensation. As of October 1, 2007, the average weekly wage is $712.11, and it is subject to change on October 1, 2008.
The formula for calculating sole proprietors and partners' payroll, per the Texas Basic Manual of Rules for Workers' Compensation and Employers' Liability Insurance, Rule V.F.3b, is: Texas Average Weekly Wage x 1.25 x 52, rounded to the nearest $100.
