Oil & Gas Safety Roundtable
Between 2003 and 2006, the oil and gas industry’s workplace fatality rate was seven times higher than the fatality rate in other industries, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Texas recorded the most fatalities with 53, followed by Louisiana with 49.
Texas Mutual is committed to reversing the trend.
We partnered with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Texas Oil & Gas Association, and employers to form the oil and gas safety roundtable. The group meets at our corporate headquarters in Austin with two goals: 1. Find out why oil and gas workers are dying on the job. 2. Identify best practices that employers can follow to prevent accidents.
