Return-To-Work Information If you were injured on the job, your doctor and employer want to help you to return to productive work as soon as medically reasonable. Research has shown that resuming regular work activities is an important part of the healing process. The longer an injured employee stays off work, the less likely he or she will ever return to productive employment. On the other hand, employees who return to work quickly usually recover faster. In some cases, injured employees cannot resume their full duties immediately. That’s why many employers offer modified duties to the injured employee to help them make the transition back to work. Modified duties must meet the doctor’s restrictions. If you do not accept your employer’s bona fide offer of employment (one that meets your doctor’s restrictions), you may lose your temporary income benefits. For more information about the return-to-work process, call (800) 859-5995 and ask for an information specialist. Texas Mutual® is a registered service mark of Texas Mutual Insurance Company. |
