Highlights from 2019

Protecting 1.5 million Texans

In 2019, we provided coverage to 72,188 Texas businesses. Providing them with the resources to work safely is an important part of our commitment to building a stronger, safer Texas. We visited four cities across the state with our Safety Summits, which brought together more than 700 attendees to learn about safety best practices. With the largest team of safety professionals, we conducted over 8,000 onsite visits to help policyholders enhance their safety programs. Together with our policyholders, we're proud to help build safe workplaces for over 1.5 million hardworking Texans.

Putting our customers first

We know that caring for our employees makes us a stronger business. In 2019, we were recognized as a Best Company to Work for in Texas for the 10th time. Our employees are passionate about what they do, because we do more than provide insurance. We’re in the business of helping people. From our IT staff to our training specialists, we delivered hundreds of enhancements to our online systems to improve the customer experience and we hosted over a dozen educational events for agents and policyholders to help them make the most of workers’ compensation insurance.

Delivering in times of need

As the leading provider of workers’ compensation in the state, we are here for the strength and resiliency of Texas. We put this commitment in action by doing our part to fortify Texas businesses and serve our communities. In 2019, we answered the call to help by providing $2.4 million in grants for policyholders affected by Tropical Storm Imelda and we donated $100,000 to the recovery effort after the Dallas tornados. Our employees also volunteered over 5,000 hours in our communities.

Helping Texans work safe

We work with our policyholders to help minimize workplace injuries, and when they do occur, we help workers on the road to recovery. In 2019, we delivered $1.5 million in safety grants to help ensure employers have the resources needed to provide a safer workplace and prevent accidents. When injuries do happen, we do our part to help those employees get back to a productive life.
