Guidelines requested for preventing aerosol transmission of SARS-CoV-2

Federal and state governments are uncovering a counterfeit scam involving the distribution of at least 10 million fake 3M N95 masks. 3M issued a warning describing how to identify counterfeit masks. Additionally, NIOSH published a guide explaining how to determine if a mask was not legitimately approved by the agency.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

FMCSA extends hours-of-service exemptions involving COVID-19

FMCSA is extending temporary hours-of-service exemptions for those transporting items related to COVID-19 relief. Examples include COVID-19 vaccines, medical supplies, personal protective equipment and cleaning items. The extension is now scheduled to remain in effect through May 31.

The National Safety Council (NSC)

Nominations open for safety program recognition

Submissions are being accepted for the NSC’s Green Cross for Safety Awards. There are three categories of awards designed to recognize different types of safety programs and leaders. Nominations will be accepted through February 28.
