Texas Mutual designated as a high-performing carrier
For the 11th consecutive time, Texas Mutual has earned the designation of high performer status from the Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC). It’s a testament to our claims teams consistently doing the right thing for injured employees and ensuring they’re cared for throughout their recovery journey.
About the assessment
Every two years, DWC conducts a Performance Based Oversight (PBO) assessment of workers’ comp carriers and healthcare providers in the state. For insurance carriers, the PBO specifically measures timeliness in these areas:
- Income benefits paid to injured employees
- Payments to medical providers who treat our injured employees
- Reporting the above information to the regulator
Texas Mutual received an overall score of 97.8 for all five measures in the assessment, placing us in DWC’s highest tier.
