To help build stronger and safer communities, we invest in grant opportunities for our policyholders and nonprofits across the state. These programs are evaluated annually based on our resources and to ensure that we direct funding to communities and organizations in need.
One benefit of being a Texas Mutual policyholder is eligibility for exclusive grant opportunities. Since 2016, we have awarded almost $8 million in safety grants to policyholders. Safety grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients are awarded $1,500 for the purchase of approved safety equipment to help reduce or eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses. This includes ergonomic, safety, disease and illness prevention and industrial hygiene equipment.

To support our communities, we're committing $8 million to nonprofits across the state focused on generational learning, workforce development and safety training through two Request for Proposal (RFP) initiatives in 2023.
We partner with VFIS of Texas to support need-based grants for volunteer first responder and nonprofit EMS organizations. The grants encourage participation in health and wellness programs to help recipients improve their wellness and prevent on-the-job injuries.
Applications open in the fall and are managed by VFIS of Texas in partnership with the State Firefighters’ & Fire Marshals’ Association of Texas. Learn more on the VFIS of Texas’ site.
