OSHA announces heat illness prevention enforcement program

Secretary Marty Walsh and Vice President Kamala Harris announced a new enforcement program to protect workers from heat illness and injuries. OSHA states the National Emphasis Program will improve enforcement and compliance efforts while a regulation continues to be developed. The agency plans to inspect businesses in over 70 high-risk industries during heat warnings.
