According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 80% of employees suffer from work-related stress. To improve understanding and help promote prevention, OSHA is sharing resources and training materials for employers.

ATRI releases list of top trucking concerns

After receiving over 4,200 stakeholder responses, ATRI has released an updated list of the top 10 trucking industry concerns. Fuel prices, a shortage of drivers and a lack of safe parking places for trucks ranked as the top three concerns. Apprehensions about speed-limiting devices made the list for the first time, in ninth position.

Drowsy Driving Prevention Week begins November 6

The National Sleep Foundation is hosting Drowsy Driving Prevention Week during November 6-13. The annual event follows the end of Daylight Saving Time and aims to prevent drivers from operating a vehicle while sleep deprived. The campaign’s website page offers several educational resources.

Six theories for addressing safety challenges

A group of safety professionals created a set of six conceptual tools to help address common safety challenges. An American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) article covers all six theories and includes examples for implementation.
