At Texas Mutual, we’re here to help you make your business a safer place by providing you with the resources you need to train your employees. That’s why we’re excited to announce an upgrade coming to our e-Learning system in the third quarter of this year.

Based on five years of experience with our current e-Learning system and feedback from policyholders like you, we’re retiring our existing system and transitioning to a new one. With the new e-Learning system, you’ll be able to easily assign and track training and access even more courses and features. Here’s what you need to know about our e-Learning system in the coming months.

Legacy (current) e-Learning system

Can I still use the legacy e-Learning system?

Yes, you will still be able to access the legacy e-Learning system until the transition. When creating assignments, we recommend administrators select a due date no later than July 31, 2023 to help ensure assignments are completed prior to the transition.

Will my employees’ training report data be saved?

Yes, we will be saving e-Learning course data from the legacy e-Learning system. Companies that have used the legacy e-Learning system, have an in-force policy with Texas Mutual and have users with a unique email address and log in ID, will be able to view the past seven years of completed course data.

What will happen to outstanding assignments?

Outstanding assignments will not be transferred to the new e-Learning system. For example, if you assign a forklift safety course to an employee and the assignment is Assigned or In Progress at the time of transition, you will have to assign a new course through the new system after the transition. To help ensure assignments in the legacy system are completed prior to the transition, we recommend administrators select a due date no later than July 31, 2023.

What can I expect when the legacy system is retired?

When we launch the new e-Learning system, you will no longer be able to access anything in the legacy e-Learning system, including the catalog and assignments. We will not be transferring outstanding assignments or learner profiles from the legacy e-Learning system.

Does this affect the safety resource catalog (Zywave)?

No, the safety resource catalog is a separate system and is not being affected by this change.

New e-Learning system

When will the new e-Learning system launch?

We anticipate launching our new e-Learning system between August 15 and September 30.

What features can we expect in the new e-Learning system?

With the new e-Learning system, you will be able to access it using your mobile device and have even more courses in English and Spanish right at your fingertips. New reporting features will allow you to filter data and download graphs or charts to easily track training. Additionally, you’ll be able to plan training schedules in advance using two new tools for building course bundles and learning plans. The new system will require a unique email address for each learner account in addition to a unique user ID, which will ensure training is tracked appropriately.

How will the new e-Learning system be accessed?

Administrators will be able to easily access the new e-Learning system through a link in Texas Mutual Online (TMO), in the same place e-Learning is currently located. To take e-Learning courses, learners will log in using a separate website, similar to the current process, that will be available after launch.

Will learner profiles (students/employees) have to be set up again in the new e-Learning system?

Yes, you will need to create accounts for your employees in the new e-Learning system. You will have the option to create accounts manually or upload a spreadsheet to create multiple accounts at once. Once their account is created in the new system, learners will receive an email to confirm their profile.

Will the same courses be available in the new system?

While we are not transferring existing courses to the new e-Learning system, we will ensure that all existing subjects are available within the new catalog. The new catalog will include a robust offering of safety courses in English and Spanish.

How can I learn more about the new e-Learning system?

When we get closer to launching our new e-Learning system, we will equip you with more detailed information and resources.
