Heat illness prevention work group scheduled to meet in April

The National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health Heat Injury and Illness Prevention Work Group is scheduled to meet next month on April 27. OSHA will host the virtual meeting and is inviting the public to listen in. One of the potential discussion topics includes the proposed heat illness and injury prevention rule.

ASSP remembers deadly factory fire that led to increased safety awareness

Over 100 years ago, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire caused 146 deaths and remains the deadliest industrial disaster in New York City. On March 25, ASSP is encouraging businesses to join the organization in remembering the employees who lost their lives and refocusing on a safety-first mindset.

Work zone awareness week begins April 17

This year’s National Work Zone Awareness Week is scheduled for April 17-21. The 2023 theme focuses on everyone doing their part to keep work zones safe. Events are scheduled for each day of the week and companies are encouraged to participate by sharing the message.
