Creating pathways to prosperity through employment

NPower Texas provides training, certification, job placement and social support for individuals who want to launch a career in technology. Located in the fast-growing digital hub of Dallas, NPower is addressing the workforce need head on. Since its opening in 2013, the organization has helped more than 1,500 students find paths into successful IT careers.

NPower impactful story

NPower’s unique 23-week training program creates opportunities for overcoming generational poverty and achieving economic independence. Veterans, their spouses and young adults from underserved communities have benefitted from its tuition-free technology education.

The NPower effect

Mack Campbell, senior development director at NPower Texas, has been with the nonprofit since August of 2019. Campbell works extensively with donors who help support the organization’s needs and impact the lives of current students.

“NPower Texas has the opportunity to elevate our students from poverty to prosperity within our program,” said Campbell. “We want our students at NPower Texas to be the best that they can possibly be.”

Of the veterans who trained with NPower Texas, 65% were unemployed prior to the program. Graduates who were placed in a job after completion of the program have an 85% success rate and the opportunity to earn an average salary of $40,000-$60,000.

As part of their commitment to the strength and safety of Texas workers, Texas Mutual awarded $7 million in grant funding to Texas nonprofits in 2022. NPower Texas qualified for one of these grants by demonstrating their commitment to workforce development and generational learning.

Funding from donors like Texas Mutual helps pay for the necessary tools and support systems that students need to succeed in the program. From laptops and internet access to social services that provide transportation and childcare, every element of the program is touched by outside funding. This allows each student who walks through the doors an equal and fair opportunity to prosper.

Texas Mutual is proud to support NPower Texas in their commitment to changing the lives of so many individuals in the state of Texas.
