Texas Mutual President and CEO Jeanette Ward named to Forbes 50 Over 50

We are thrilled to announce that Jeanette Ward, Texas Mutual president and CEO, has been named to the 2023 Forbes 50 Over 50 – Investment list. The Forbes 50 Over 50 list recognizes women leaders who are doing innovative, impactful work over the age of 50. The investment category includes 50 women across numerous industries who are achieving significant success while managing money.

Along with the other nominees, Jeanette was chosen after a five-month research, reporting, vetting and judging process. The women were asked questions: “What are your greatest ‘Over 50’ accomplishments?” and “Are you achieving at scale?” The semifinalists were then vetted by a panel of entrepreneurs who assessed the candidates’ acumen. In the end, Jeanette joins business founders, inventors and an astronaut on the third annual list.

In an industry where women make up 60% of the workforce but only 11% of executive leadership, Jeanette has worked to solidify herself as a role model to other professionals—especially women—in the insurance industry. Jeanette first joined Texas Mutual 30 years ago a receptionist in the C-suite and was named president and CEO on March 1, 2023 by a unanimous board vote. She has continuously worked to develop her skills and has mentored many women on how to lead with confidence and maintain a strong presence. She has also participated in the Austin Business Journal’s Bizwomen Mentoring Monday for the past several years.

In addition to the workforce, Jeanette also supports our community through her involvement in local and national nonprofits. She volunteers with companies like the American Heart Association (AHA), United Way, and the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF). In fact, IICF awarded Jeanette the 2023 Southeast Philanthropic Leadership Award for her philanthropic excellence and outstanding work supporting charitable giving and volunteerism.
