Texas Mutual welcomes new board member, re-elects another

New board member, Doug Cogan

During our annual policyholder meeting this past May, Doug Cogan, of Cypress, Texas, was elected to join Texas Mutual’s board of directors. We also celebrated the re-election of Steve Oldham, who’s continuing his service for another term. Both of their board terms are set to expire in 2031.

About Doug Cogan

Cogan is a retired partner from the professional services firm PwC. As a global executive, he has worked in over 40 countries, serving Fortune 250 companies and IPOs in sectors including technology, energy, pharmaceuticals and financial services. He is a senior leader with extensive experience in complex technology transformations across various industries.

Cogan has a proven track record of consulting with executive management teams and boards of directors, simplifying complex initiatives and development strategies to mitigate potential risks. With a passion for people and new technology, he now provides consultation for artificial intelligence initiatives and serves as a board member for a private company and a nonprofit entity.

Cogan holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and business administration from the University of Mount Union and has completed executive education programs at Stanford University, Harvard University, MIT and the London Business School.

Steve Oldham was appointed to Texas Mutual’s board of directors in 2019. He is a partner and chief compliance officer at Autumn Lane Advisors, a wealth management firm, and also serves on Texicare’s board of directors.

Along with the elections of Cogan and Oldham, William Quinn was selected as the new vice chair of the board. Quinn was elected to the board in 2021 and is the retired executive chairman of American Beacon Advisors, an asset management and mutual fund company he founded in 1986.

Texas Mutual’s board members represent a diverse mix of Texas industries and regions. The Governor, with the advice and consent of the Texas Senate, appoints five of the nine directors, including the chair. Policyholders elect the other four directors.
