At Texas Mutual, our annual United Way campaign is more than a fundraiser. It’s the season where our people come together and show up the right way for Texans. United Way has been a partner to Texas Mutual for over 30 years, and this year we raised over $150,000 to help the organization bring people, ideas and resources together to break economic barriers in our community.

During the month-long campaign, employees from across our offices fundraised through different creative campaigns in addition to making weekly donations. We hosted Chopped, our version of the reality TV show, as well as the third annual TXM’s Got Talent, where contestants from across the company took the stage to show off their unique skills. Each event brought employees from each of our offices together while raising money for a good cause.

United Way also joined Texas Mutual for a conversation to share how they support our communities in times of need through their 2-1-1 Navigation Center. One of our own employees even shared a personal story about how her family benefited from the support of United Way.

“At the center of it all is a partnership we are incredibly proud of. TXM and United Way are bound by a shared mission to show up for Texans and work toward a stronger, better Texas for everyone. That alignment isn't just professional; it's personal. It shows up in every kit we build, every bid placed, every talent showcased, and every dollar raised,” said Jesse Gray, United Way co-chair at Texas Mutual.

Over the past four years, Texas Mutual has awarded nearly $1,700,000 in grants to United Way chapters across the state. These funds have been directly invested in our communities, from supporting United Way of Greater Austin in expanding access to pre-K to helping United Way of the Crossroads provide care and social services through the assistance of certified Community Health Workers.

We’re proud to continue supporting United Way’s impact along with over 500 other nonprofit partners across the state. This year, we’ll be awarding $8 million in grants to nonprofits through two community grants focused on strengthening communities, businesses and working families. Our Working Texans Economic Opportunity Grant is now open and we’ll be accepting applications until May 15.
