Inviting nonprofits to apply for a generational learning grant

Texas Mutual is proud to announce our continued commitment to supporting our communities with an $8 million investment in grant funding for 2025. This marks our fifth consecutive year of empowering nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting working families and fortifying businesses through generational learning, workforce development and safety training.

Since 2016, Texas Mutual has invested over $90 million into communities across the state. Together, with our community partners, we’re fostering meaningful change for current and future Texans.

We will award grants through two Request for Proposal (RFP) cycles, starting this month.

Generational learning grants

In the first grant cycle, we’re seeking to invest in initiatives that support generational impact and will be awarding grants to organizations that focus on:

  • Improving the health and wellness of Texas employees and their families by providing access to quality care and health education
  • Strengthening the early childhood education system by ensuring child care providers have the resources needed to deliver access to affordable, quality education for Texas families
  • Providing holistic wraparound support for clients in addition to case management to ensure families have the resources they need to seize opportunities

Applications for the first grant cycle opened Monday, April 14 and will close at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, May 16. Find more information, including a recording of our informational webinar.

Workforce development and safety training grants

The second grant cycle will bolster workforce development and safety training. We’ll be seeking to invest in organizations and initiatives focused on:

  • Training the current and future skilled workforce in safe work practices, especially in industries or occupations at higher risk for workplace accidents
  • Creating strong pathways for in-demand middle-skill jobs
  • Upskilling and reskilling adult learners using earn-and-learn initiatives

Applications for the second grant cycle will open at 8 a.m. CDT on Monday, August 11, and will close at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, September 12.

The Texas Mutual community affairs team will host an informational webinar on Wednesday, August 20 at 11 a.m. CDT for the second grant cycle to answer questions about the RFP.
