Expanding your clients’ coverage with an out-of-state policy
As your workers’ compensation partner, we’re committed to helping you get the best coverage for your clients. And that extends beyond Texas. For your clients with locations outside of the state, their Texas Mutual policy can be complemented by a policy from Argo Group US (Argo) to provide seamless coverage. Keep reading to learn more about what you and your clients can expect when you add an Argo policy.
Filing claims with Argo
When clients have an Argo policy, any claims occurring outside of Texas should be filed directly with Argo. Clients can create an Argo account to:
- Report injuries
- View and track claims
- Download out-of-state loss runs
You can also download state-specific Claims Kits from Argo to help your clients meet applicable claim requirements.
Managing an Argo policy
When you help your client purchase an Argo policy, we work with Argo to help simplify the overall workers’ comp experience. All billing for Texas Mutual and Argo policies are combined on the policyholder’s invoices. Additionally, our team will conduct the final audits for both Texas Mutual and Argo policies.
What to know before adding coverage
Each state has their own workers’ comp coverage requirements. Because of that, it’s important that Argo policies reflect every state in which the policyholder operates. This allows Argo to provide proof of your client’s coverage information, as required by each state’s insurance department. It also helps prevent your client from receiving possible penalties or fines for failing to promptly report coverage.
- Prior to requesting an Argo quote, ask your client to list all the states in which they currently operate or plan to do business in.
- Please let your Texas Mutual underwriter know if there are states not listed for workers’ comp specifically in your client's Argo insurance policy (item 3A of the information page).
- After the policy is bound, Argo will notify the insurance department in each state.
How to add an Argo policy
We aim to support Texas Mutual policyholders operating in other states. Your Texas Mutual underwriter can help you address your client’s loss exposures and design a policy to meet their needs.
Texas Mutual is committed to the success of our agent partners, including providing you with the resources you need to support our mutual clients. Thank you for all that you do to help your clients make the most of their policy.
