OSHA announces plans for 2021 fall prevention stand-down

The eighth annual National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction has been scheduled for May 3-7. OSHA partners with several other organizations each year to promote fall protection training in the construction industry. Employers can find resources on the event’s website.

OSHA’s releases Top 10 data

Preliminary data has been released on OSHA’s 10 most cited violations during fiscal year 2020. Multiple standards shifted positions from the 2019 list, with ladders moving into the top five and lockout/tagout dropping further down the list. However, Fall Protection – General Requirements remains the most frequently cited standard for the 10th year. Employers are encouraged to use the list to look at potential hazards in their own workplaces.

ASSP offers virtual training events

ASSP is promoting free webinars on a variety of OSHA topics. Current topics include COVID-19-related citations and how the new administration will affect OSHA. Employers can also access recordings of webinars from 2020 on ASSP’s website.
