Texas Mutual employees raise $190,256 for annual United Way fundraiser

At Texas Mutual, we see strengthening our communities as a part of everything we do. It’s a mission we share with our longstanding partner, United Way, and recently put into action through our largest annual fundraiser in support of the organization. Through creative virtual fundraisers and personal donations, employees helped raise a company record of $190,256 to go toward creating meaningful change in the communities where we live and work.

With the majority of our employees working remotely, we provided virtual opportunities throughout the campaign to help them learn more about United Way’s mission. This included hosting our first community conversation where representatives from United Way for Greater Austin and Texas Mutual shared our collaboration on programs such as Success By 6, Emerging Leaders and Women’s United.

Our employees stepped up in leading creative fundraisers. From partnering with Tiff’s Treats and Kendra Scott to hosting our winter-themed office olympics and second annual version of the reality TV show, Chopped, we helped strengthen our communities.

Through our TXM for Texas community affairs program, our employees are empowered to give back to our communities at work and in their personal time. Whether it’s volunteering at back-to-school drives or participating in early childhood education panels, we’re helping Texas families thrive.

Through our community funding efforts in 2021, we delivered nearly $5 million in grants to nonprofits across the state, including some of United Way’s agency partners. With a focus on workforce development and generational learning initiatives, these grants helped make a difference in the lives of hard-working Texans and their families.

Together, with the United Way and our over 100 nonprofit partners, we’re helping build a stronger, safer Texas. We’re grateful for our employees’ community spirit each and every day as we show up for our neighbors and grow our nonprofit partnerships to help put our mission into action.
